Nigerian Federal High Court in Abuja granted the detained Leader of
the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF) Alhaji Mujahid
Dokubo-Asari bail on health grounds. Although Dokubo Asari was not
in court as at the time of the procedding.
Dokubo, leader of the Niger
Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, has been detained on treasonable
felony charges since November 2005.
The Judge Peter O. said that
the bail is granted on the some conditions which include his
not being allowed to take part in any political rally or event.
He is however free to travel
to any country of his choice for medical treatment but has to report
his movement to security operatives and report to the Nigerian
embassy in any country he travels to first the judge said.
