Dokubo, leader of the Niger
Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, has been detained on treasonable
felony charges since November 2005.
He sometimes insults
Nigerian authorities, most notably outgoing president Olusegun
Obasanjo, in court and his case has been adjourned on several
occasions already.
The latest hearing was the
first time the public and journalists were denied access to court,
after an order given "from above", according to Keyamo, who accused
authorities of planning to "eliminate" Dokubo in detention.
Earlier this month the
lawyer said his client was "dying" in prison.
On June 8, the Supreme Court
has to decide if Asari Dokubo can be released on bail or not.
