AN OPEN LETTER TO THE
PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
ALHAJI UMAR MUSA YAR’ADUA
FROM HABIBA DOKUBO- ASARI –
7 year old Daughter of Alhaji Dokubo – Asari
7th June
2007
Salam Whalakum,
Mr. President Sir, I want you to
please release my daddy, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari leader of the
Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force who has been in
detention for close to 2 years now. Mr. President, my daddy is a
good man who has the interest of the common man at heart.
I don’t know how I manage to stay
without him up till now.
My daddy was arrested for a crime
he did not commit and I don’t know why he is still detained up till
now.
You know you were very sick
during the presidential election campaign. We all including the
whole world prayed for your quick recovery and Allah heard our
prayer.
Mr. President please have mercy
on me and my brothers and sisters and release our daddy for us so we
can feel the joy of being with our daddy once more. Me, my brothers
and sisters including our mummy need our daddy badly.
Mr, President, I know you are a
father and you can know exactly what I am talking about for a
father to stay away from his children for such a long time. Mr.
President, children without daddy and mummy cannot be complete.
May Allah help us to do the right
thing at the right time. May Allah guide and protect you throughout
your stay in office.
Ma salam,
Habiba Dokubo-Asari
