A CLARION CALL TO NIGER DELTA PEOPLE

|The Force | Check Email | Contacts |Home|

We call on all peoples of the Niger Delta to remain truly patriotic and to work for the total liberation of our people, while fishing out traitors and “vultures” amongst themselves who have been indoctrinated to sell their liberty for less than awaits them at the end of the struggle.

A PRESS RELEASE BY THE NIGER DELTA PEOPLES VOLUNTEER FORCE.

NDPVF Rejects Dissociates itself from Militant Group 'The Martyr's Brigade

24th  December, 2005

Dear All,

In the past week, a dissident & break-away group of the Niger Delta
Peoples Salvation Front & The Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force,
The Martyrs Brigade in collaboration with some militant elements from some
of the states of the Niger Delta caused the explosion of crude oil
pipelines and also carried out acts of violence against security agents
of the Nigerian state.
The Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force & The Niger Delta People’s
Salvation Front hereby dissociates themselves from such acts of terror.
For some time now, we have pursued peace and fervently negotiated with our
militant brothers and sisters to give peace a chance and pursue
virtues laced with patience and tolerance. We have advocated that we
give peace a chance while we watch the transparency of the legal
process. For a time, we were succeeding; unfortunately, the seekers of
armed struggle seem to have finally had their way.
We use this opportunity to call on the government of the Nigerian state
to please ensure that truth, fairness and transparency in the trial of
the Chairman of The Niger Delta People’s Salvation Front, Alhaji
Mujahid Dokubo-Asari is upheld and made clear for all to see.
It is clear at this point that tempers are at an all time high and the
worst might just be yet to happen. Our continued resolve to ensure a
keeping of the peace is suddenly becoming very unpopular with certain
elements who believe that violence and grave sabotage are the best
ways of handling issues such as that that faces the Niger Delta people
today.
We call on the ruler of the Nigerian State, General Olusegun Obasanjo
(rtd) to release our patriotic leader without much delay.
In the last few weeks, the NDPSF & the NDPVF have been branded
unmentionable names. Cowards, weaklings and louses are some of these.
We pray the government will ensure that our position in keeping the
peace in the Niger Delta is not compromised.

Long Live The Niger Delta
