PRESS
STATEMENT
TO
WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Our attention has been drawn to a
recent threat letter purportedly written to First Bank Nigeria Plc
unbehalf of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF) by some
faceless individuals.
NDVPF is a nationalist and self
determination group whose mission statement and declarations
honorably makes it anti-criminal; pursuing the greatest good for the
greatest number.
We, the Niger Delta Peoples
Salvation Front (NDPSF) wish to make the following declarations:
1. The NDPVF is involved in
agitation for self-determination within the provisions of
international law, viz; Universal Declaration on Human Rights,
United Nations Convention on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples,
Africa Charter on Human and Peoples Rights. This is reflected in
their mission statement
2. The Niger Delta struggle is
aimed at returning sovereignty to the peoples and ensuring
environmental, socio-economic and natural justice to the people.
3. It is natural that criminals
will capitalize on this seeming state of anarchy to rob individuals
and organizations.
4. We condemn in totality, all
criminal activities perpetrated by individuals or groups in the name
of the Niger Delta struggle as it runs contrary to the natural laws
of our land.
5. We call on the management and
staffs of First Bank Nigeria plc. To disregard the purported threat
letter as it did not emanate from NDPVF. Some con men and fraudsters
are at work!
6. We further call on the
government of the Nigerian state to resolve the Niger Delta
imbroglio by following the agreement reached with our patriotic and
esteemed leader, Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari on October Ist,
2004.
Thanks.
The struggle continues!
Mark Olise
Director of administration.
